Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans who were quick to share their thoughts on what Carroll had to say.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say about Carroll’s comments on the Leicester defeat?

“No we didn’t.”

@nufcaam

“We 100% didn’t.”

@Jamesgr03407364

“Off his rocker”

@byernysern

“We really didn’t. Unless the thing we deserved to get was beaten.”

@The_21st_Doctor

“Sticking up for his mate Bruce after he bent over backwards to get him a new contract. Lad wouldn’t get a game in the champ”

@SLennon22

“Mediocrity breeds mediocrity.”

@mumba88

“Because we were able to hang on for 45 mins? We were caught in possession and ruthlessly punished. Yes we scored but could not get another.”

@Adam_B_White

Despite a late goal from Carroll, it wasn’t enough for Newcastle to get anything from the game after goals from James Maddison and Youri Tielemans put Leicester ahead.

Do you think Newcastle deserved to get anything against Leicester?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Newcastle fans don’t agree with Carroll’s statement that the Toon deserved more than a defeat against Leicester.

With WhoScored giving Newcastle a team rating of 6.45/10 compared to Leicester’s 6.97/10, this shows that the visitors were the better team on the day and deserved the victory in our view.
