First up in this Mo Salah quiz, what is his current squad number for Liverpool?

One of the clubs that Castles mentioned was Liverpool, and it looks like the Reds are interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma.

The 24-year-old has made 16 league appearances for the Seagulls this season and averages 3.1 tackles per game and has also popped up with one goal.

So, he has done pretty well, and it looks like Liverpool see him as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum as his contract expires in June.

He said: “I think if you look at Liverpool; it’s clear that Bissouma is being thought of as an option to replace Gini Wijnaldum if he leaves under freedom of contract at the end of the season.

“[Bissouma] is a similar type of player, performs a similar type of role, much younger.

“You mentioned the [high statistical] rating at present [and] we know that’s one of the filters that Liverpool use before presenting names to Jurgen Klopp as options for new signings.

“My understanding is that Klopp has done some work to ask questions about Bissouma to people who know him well, which again would suggest that this is something that Liverpool have on a list of potential replacements.”

Would you like to see Bissouma signed?

TIF Thoughts on Liverpool’s interest in Bissouma…

As was mentioned earlier in the piece, Bissouma has an outstanding tackles-per-game ratio, and if Wijnaldum was to leave, you could see why the Reds might want to sign him.

He is also only 24 and is valued at £11.7m by Transfermarkt, so he might not be too expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Certainly, we will be interested to see what happens with Wijnaldum in the summer and if he does leave, then we would like to see Liverpool sign Bissouma.
