Graham Smyth has been speaking on the latest edition of the Inside Elland Road podcast by the Yorkshire Evening Post with Joe Urquhart about all things relating to Leeds United.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

One of the main topics that they talked about was transfers, and one player who doesn’t look like he will be moving to Elland Road in this transfer window is Fikayo Tomori of Chelsea.

The 23-year-old centre-back had been linked with a loan move to Elland Road earlier this week, but according to Smyth’s information, there is nothing in that story.

He said: “There’s been a lot of talk about the Tomori kid at Chelsea.

“I have been told no on that front.”

Do you want Leeds to sign Tomori?

TIF Thoughts on Smyth’s update on Tomori…

Leeds are currently without Robin Koch, and have been without Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper, which means that Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk have filled in as centre-backs for the last three league games.

This has returned two clean sheets and one 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, so they have done pretty well.

However, with that number of centre-backs injured, we were not surprised to see the Whites linked with Tomori, who made 15 Premier League appearances for Frank Lampard’s men last season but, this year has only appeared for 44 minutes in the league.

However, if Smyth is to be believed, the Whites are not interested in signing the former Derby County loan man, so we will be interested to see if Leeds decide to just wait for the likes of Koch to return or if they do make a move for a centre-back.

Tomori, though, looks to be one name that Whites fans can forget about.
