A lot of Leeds United fans were fuming with Liam Cooper’s display during the first half of the Whites’ Premier League game against Leicester City.
The 29-year-old was selected to start the game but it is clear that many of these Leeds fans were furious with his performance. Part of this could be down to the fact that the defender played an ambitious ball forward which led to Leicester City regaining possession before their goal.
“Please get rid of Liam Cooper and Struijk and we’d be very good”
“We’re not progressing until we dump Liam Cooper”
“Cooper isn’t good enough and never will be”
“All from Cooper feeling the need to boot it forward “
Cooper has been with Leeds since 2014 and in that time he has made over 200 appearances for the club.
This season in the Premier League he has actually been pretty solid in most games with just the odd bad performance thrown in.
However, Whites fans continued to slate his display against Leicester.
“Liam Cooper just simply isn’t good enough..”
“Watching Cooper play is getting harder and harder to watch in this division. Bielsa needs to make the tough decision sooner rather than later”
“Awful.”
The former Hull City man has grown as a player under Marcelo Bielsa and has moved on from his unfortunate nickname of “League One Liam“, but it is clear that to these Whites fans he was not impressive in the first half of this Premier League match.
