A lot of Leeds United fans have replied to a post from Adam Pope that has relayed news taken from Ryan Edmondson’s Instagram account in which he confirmed that he would be leaving Aberdeen and returning to Leeds.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

The 19-year-old has been on loan with the SPFL team, but after just three league starts, two goals, and two assists, it looks like his loan spell has ended.

This has drawn in these Leeds fans who feel that Edmondson will never be good enough to play for the Whites’ first team.

He will never pull on a first team shirt. Simply not good enough. No pace. If he cannot get a start for Aberdeen he ain’t going on our bench.”

@GavaghanMark

Doubt he is better than Greenwood and the Wigan lad we brought sell him to the Dons never going get in the first team”

@jamieparsons76

“He wasn’t pulling up any trees at Aberdeen, miles off being able to play for our first team at Leeds.”

@Official_ColinW

“His career will be away from ER you’d think.”

@Thedentmaster

Do you think Leeds should keep Edmondson?

No, time for him to move on

No, time for him to move on

Yes, he deserves a chance

Yes, he deserves a chance

Other Whites fans, though, want to see him given a chance in the remaining league games.

Surely worth a go over Bam Bam barn door popey? Need a proper striker bug strong powerful lad Ryan is”

@1919CraigMOT

I’ve a lot of time for him. He’s a big brute of a lad, and can put the fear of God into most defenders. Hopefully this loan has made him hungrier to get into our first team squad.”

Edmondson has only ever made two senior appearances for Leeds, and the last of those came in the 2018/19 season in a 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City, so it would be intriguing if Marcelo Bielsa decided to use him.

The 19-year-old only has until the end of June this year left on his contract, so whatever happens to him in this transfer window, his time with the Whites could be coming to an end.

Certainly, most of these Leeds fans feel as though he will never be good enough to play for the Whites’ first-team, and we will be interested to see if Bielsa agrees with them or not.
