Speaking recently on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano discussed Everton’s link with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.
Since moving to Spurs from Milton Keynes Dons in what was a £5.97 million deal back in 2015, Alli has gone on to feature 233 times for the club, scoring 64 goals and providing 56 assists along the way.
However, so far this season, the £34.2 million-rated 24-year-old has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho, appearing in just four Premier League matches, over which he has played a total of 74 minutes of football.
As a result, it has been widely reported that the midfielder would like to leave north London in the January transfer window, with both Everton and Paris Saint-Germain said to be keen on making a move for the England international.
However, according to Romano, speaking on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, there are no negotiations between Carlo Ancelotti’s side and Spurs for a deal regarding Alli.
He said: “The main thing is Daniel Levy. Because Daniel Levy doesn’t want to sell players or loan out players with small value, he wants the full price. So, if some clubs will arrive, and we will see what Paris Saint-Germain decide. At the moment there is nothing advanced, but we will see because Dele wants to play.
“Dele wants his space, and he’s not playing, he’s not happy with the situation. So, in the next days, we’ll have a clear situation about Dele Alli. But, I want to tell you something more about Everton, [there have been] some rumours – I have no information about Everton working to sign Dele Alli.”

Despite the rumours suggesting that Ancelotti’s side have already lodged an offer with Spurs with a view to bringing Alli to Goodison Park this month, according to Romano, there is nothing between the two clubs.
However, with it being abundantly clear that the midfielder is not happy with the situation he finds himself in at Tottenham, it would not be surprising to see the 24-year-old begin to actively push for a move away from the club as the transfer window rolls on, which could potentially lead to an opening for the Toffees should they indeed wish to make a move for the player.
