Arsenal have been urged to raid Ajax for their talented right-back Noussair Mazraoui to replace Hector Bellerin.

Bellerin has arguably been one of Arsenal’s least impressive players this season, coming under pressure for his performances throughout the campaign. Now some of that could be down to the fact he’s still recovering from a horrible injury he suffered this time last year, but either way something has to be done at the position.

Tifo Football’s Sensible Transfers (3:40) has suggested that they focus their attention on Dutch side Ajax and their Moroccan right-back Mazraoui, who they put down as a promising prospect in both attack and defence:

“The 23-year-old isn’t explosively quick, but he is an intelligent one to one defender, who stands in the tackle and has the size to be resilient. In possession, he’s brilliant, creating overlaps with quick clever passes in tight areas, but also carrying the ball with real finesse. Mazroui is also six-foot-tall and well tooled for the Premier League. We think he’d be an immediate upgrade on Bellerin.”

Do you think Arsenal should cash in on Hector Bellerin during this window?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Getting you someone who can do both roles is perfect for Arsenal, not only do they clearly need help at the back judging by the reaction to Bellerin’s displays at the back, with the club currently ranked 14th in the table when it comes to chances created per 90 minutes if he can add to their attacking play as well then all the better.

Tifo Football did hint at the end that because of Ajax selling their previous right-back Sergino Dest to Barcelona only this summer, it might take a lot in order to convince the Dutch side to part with him, probably substantially more that his current Transfermarkt value of £13.5m.

But at this rate if he is seen as such an improvement on what they already have at their disposal, then it might be worth breaking the bank to make it happen.
