West Bromwich Albion podcaster Chris Lepkowski has been sharing his thoughts on Baggies attacker Matheus Pereira and his current situation at the Midlands club.

This comes after Lepkowski recently co-hosted the latest episode of West Brom-themed podcast The Liquidator where he spoke about a range of topics concerning Sam Allardyce’s side.

During the podcast, both Lepkowski and his co-host Adrian Goldberg spoke about Pereira and his current mood with both podcasters agreeing that the Brazilian doesn’t look happy at the moment.

On this subject, Lepkowski had this to say on the matter. (34.56)

He said: “It is a concern, you’re right. I don’t expect him to play with a smile on his face because we are losing, but you expect to see a little bit more from him, a little bit more responsibility from him as well.

“He is one of our more creative, productive players and we’re not seeing enough of that this season.”

West Brom signed the 24-year-old on a permanent basis from Sporting Lisbon back in the previous summer transfer window for a fee of £7.43 million after he had spent the previous year on loan with the Baggies.

So far this season, Pereira, who is currently valued at £11.7 million, has made 14 appearances for the club across all competitions in which he has managed to score two goals and provide three assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

With West Brom currently sat in the relegation zone of the Premier League table with just eight points from 17 played games and having been recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Blackpool, it’s no wonder why Lepkowski thinks Pereira isn’t in a good mood at the moment.
