West Bromwich Albion podcaster Chris Lepkowski has been sharing his thoughts on the club’s reported transfer interest in Ahmed Musa.

This comes after Lepkowski recently co-hosted the latest edition of Baggies-themed podcast The Liquidator where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the Midlands club.

On the topic of West Brom’s reported transfer interest in Musa, Lepkowski had this to say on the matter. (29.41)

He said: “He’s not a name that excites me if I’m honest, I take on board your point about his scoring record in Russia, but he doesn’t do it for me.

“Of course, if we sign him, I’ll look forward to seeing him and hope he does well, but I have to say, it’s not a name that immediately makes me excited and think that he’s going to be the guy who gets us out of the hole that we’re in.”

The 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £5.4 million, is without a club at the moment after leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr back in October.

Musa joined Al-Nassr back in August 2018 from Premier League side Leicester City for a fee of £14.85 million after signing for the Foxes in 2016 in a deal worth a reported fee of £17.55 million.

TIF Thoughts on Chris Lepkowski’s comments on Musa…

Given how Musa only managed to score five goals in the 33 appearances he made for Leicester during his time in England, it’s understandable why Lepkowski isn’t particularly excited by the idea of the Nigerian making a move to the Hawthorns.

No

However, with the club currently sat in the relegation zone of the Premier League table having only managed to have scored 15 league goals so far, in our view, they need to bring someone in who can score goals regularly and help the club get some positive results throughout the remainder of the campaign.
