Many Leeds United fans on Twitter have been discussing Pascal Struijk’s performance in the Whites’ latest Premier League game versus Brighton and Hove Albion.
The £2.25m-rated Dutch centre-back started this game in the defensive midfield position, with Kalvin Phillips, who usually starts in that position for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, suspended for this Brighton clash.
Struijk was part of a midfield that was ‘getting killed’ in the first-half, per LeedsLive’s Beren Cross, who later went on to state that ‘the likes of Struijk’ were making too many mistakes.
So, what have these Leeds United fans been saying about Struijk?
It seems as though plenty of Leeds United supporters share Cross’ view that Struijk’s performance was not up to scratch versus Brighton, as many fans of the Yorkshire club have slated the 21-year-old over this performance on Twitter.
“Struijk looks a decent centre back to me but a dreadful midfielder”
“Struijk offers nothing going forward with the ball”
“Struijk looks out of his depth today”
“We’re a man down with struijk on the pitch. Give’s absolutely nothing to the team.”
“Struijk a total passenger so far”
“Struijk is the worst player I’ve ever seen absolutely shocking”
“Doesn’t work without Kalvin. Struijk doesn’t want the ball – he’s hiding from it.”
Did Struijk play badly versus Brighton?
“Struijk is also absolutely woeful in the CDM role.”
“Struijk in centre mid is killing my eyes”
Judging by these Leeds fans’ tweets, it certainly seems as though Struijk is not the most popular player amongst the Elland Road faithful at present.
