A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a post from Phil Hay about Ezgjan Alioski’s contract situation after one Whites fan asked The Athletic reporter about him potentially leaving.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

However, Hay confirmed that the club were still in talks to extend Alioski’s contract, which runs out at the end of June this year.

This drew in these Leeds fans, who feel that the club should, in fact, let Alioski go.

He’s a great personality for the dressing room. But he’s no way good enough for prem level. He’s good at crossing and heading I’ll give him that. Rash in a tackle, not fast enough, gives the ball away far too often, and not composed enough.”

“To be honest I’m quite disappointed with this, he’ll do a job for the rest of this season but we need better options than Alioski moving forward”

@Ellam9

If he leave then that’s life, he has been great for us and is great character in the club but we are moving onwards and upwards so we will be replacing quite a few over the next few years I think”

@bigpaparunner

Snap. Dont get it at all. Puts in some shocker performances too”

@DeckyQuinn

I like his attitude and commitment but he’s out of his depth in Premier League. Definitely a player you need when it comes to getting out of Championship. I think Berardi is the same if he ever plays in the PL for us”

@DarloBod

Do you want Alioski to stay?

No, time to go

No, time to go

The 28-year-old has been at Elland Road now since the summer of 2017 and in that time he has made 152 appearances in which he has scored 22 goals and provided 16 assists.

This season in the Premier League Marcelo Bielsa has mainly used Alioski as a left-back, but he has played further forward as well, and he has scored two goals in the league.

This post from Hay continued to draw in Whites fans who would like to see Alioski stay.

Not greatest left back (or winger for that matter) but he is fun, and I do like him!”

@PhilHay_ omg i love you.”

It is unclear what will happen with Alioski’s future, but it is clear that the news of the club having talks with him over a new contract has divided the fanbase.
