Phil Hay has been speaking on the latest edition of The Athletic’s The Phil Hay Show about all things Leeds United.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

One of the topics that he spent a little bit of time on was transfers, and one player that he briefly talked about was Reading’s Michael Olise.

The young Frenchman has been linked with a move to Elland Road, and when asked if the Whites were interested in him, Hay hinted that they are looking at the 19-year-old.

He said: “He’s the sort of player that Leeds will be looking at and have an eye on.”

However, Hay revealed that he doesn’t think that a deal for Olise or anyone else for that matter will happen in this transfer window.

He continued: “It’s not to say that nothing will happen on the incoming front this month, but I think, as we said in a previous podcast, if it does, it will be a case of Leeds seeing something that they feel is too good to miss.

“It doesn’t feel as if they are in any way desperate to fill any particular position, so they’re not going to get sucked into doing something they don’t really want to do.”

Would you like to see Leeds sign Olise?

TIF Thoughts on Olise…

Olise has impressed this season for Reading in the Championship, turning in an average rating of 7.04, while also scoring four goals and providing eight assists for the Royals who sit in fifth place in the table.

The young Frenchman is also only valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt and only has until the summer of 2022 left on his current contract.

So, if the Whites could get him for a cheap fee, could he be someone they would class as “too good to miss?”

We will be interested to see if anything happens, but we feel as though they should maybe wait until Olise completes this season in the Championship before deciding if they want to sign him or not.
