Phil Hay has been speaking on the latest edition of The Athletic’s The Phil Hay Show about all things relating to Leeds United.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

One of the topics that Hay spent a lot of time on was the new investment in the Whites from the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL franchise already had a share in the club, but earlier this week they boosted that share to 37% in a deal that is thought to have added over £50m to Leeds’ worth as a club.

However, if fans were expecting this to have any immediate impact on transfers, then they might be disappointed.

He said: “The money that’s coming in is not going to make a tangible difference overnight in a way that the supporters are going to see, or any of us are necessarily going to understand in any great detail.

“For example, on Monday, there was a week of the transfer window to go, but the plan to sign nobody in January, the plan to do nothing at this stage and wait until the summer window stays as it is.

“I don’t think we will see any arrivals before the deadline passes this Monday coming.”

Were you expecting this investment to make an instant impact?

TIF Thoughts on Hay’s comments…

So, it looks like even with this new investment Leeds are still in for a quiet transfer window, and the Whites will have to go through the rest of the season with what they have got.

Leeds are 13 points clear of the relegation zone and look unlikely to get dragged back into the battle at this point, unless they go on a terrible run of results and all of the teams below them pick up a huge amount of points.

So, the decision to be quiet in this transfer window is probably a wise one, and hopefully, for Leeds fans, they get to see the benefits of this new investment from the San Francisco 49ers in the summer.
