Speaking recently to talkSPORT, Gabriel Agbonlahor claimed that Leeds United should make a move to sign Manchester United winger, Jesse Lingard, in the January transfer window.

Despite featuring 210 times for Manchester United over the course of his career, scoring 33 goals and providing 20 assists along the way, so far this season, Lingard has found himself left out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans, having not played a minute of Premier League football.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

As a result, the £9 million-rated 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club in January, with Inter Milan and Nice both reported to be keen on a move for the England international.

However, speaking to talkSPORT recently, the former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, stated his belief that Marcelo Bielsa should attempt to sign Lingard on a six-month loan deal.

He said (5:19): “I threw a name out there that you might agree with or not, Jesse Lingard. I feel like he could be a good addition to the Leeds squad – get him on loan for six months.”

TIF Thoughts on Gabriel Agbonlahor’s comments regarding Jesse Lingard…

Considering the fact that Bielsa already has the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Jack Harrison, Raphinha, Helder Costa, Ian Poveda, Rodrigo and even Patrick Bamford in his first-team squad who are all capable of operating from either wing, the wide positions of the Argentine’s squad are arguably his best-stocked positions on the pitch.

As such, in our opinion, Agbonlahor’s suggestion that the Whites should bring in Lingard this month does not appear to make a great deal of sense, particularly when you consider that the 28-year-old is currently reported to earn £75,000 per week at Manchester United – an amount that would comfortably make him Leeds’ highest earner.
