Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning their upcoming Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

This comes after Leeds journalist Adam Pope shared a post on his official Twitter account revealing that Kevin Friend will be the man to referee the match against Graham Potter’s side at the weekend with Craig Pawson on VAR duty.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say about this news on the Brighton clash?

“son’s crying”

@Jordan_Armo

“That’s no points on Saturday then we never get anything when Kevin friend is officiating”

@awswain

“Flooded with amazing referees”

@JamesWood501

“Maybe VAR will be a Friend on Saturday..”

@GSkinnes

“Why on earth do you need an assistant VAR official, is it in case of the VAR Official gets an eye strain so has to step in”

@stefleeds

“I find it strange to even announce who is going to be referee tbh”

@DudecalledScott

Looking at the replies to this post from Pope, it appears that some of these Leeds fans are not over the moon at having Pawson and Friend in charge of their game against Brighton.

Have you been satisfied with Leeds' season so far?

Yes

No

No

With Leeds losing their previous Premier League match in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, followed by another 3-0 defeat in the FA Cup against Crawley Town, Bielsa and everyone else at the club will be hoping the team can pick up a positive result against Brighton, regardless of who the referee is and who is on VAR duty.
