Supporters of Leeds United have recently reacted to the latest report which has emerged regarding Argentine midfielder Rodrigo de Paul.
During the summer transfer window, Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites were heavily linked with a swoop to sign the middleman from Serie A club Udinese (via Leeds Live).
In a recent interview with DAZN, as cited by TEAMtalk, Udinese’s sporting director Pierpaolo Marino stated that De Paul would not be available in January.
However, there was some hope in what the sporting director had to say as he claimed that he would be open to the Argentine’s sale next summer.
TEAMtalk’s report also touted Italian giants Internazionale and Juventus as two other potential ‘suitors’ for the signing of the midfielder.
The claims were relayed to Leeds fans on Twitter by James Marshment and they had lots of fans talking.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say about the latest report on Rodrigo de Paul?
“Unfortunately both Inter & Juventus most likely have something that Leeds can’t offer him.”
“as much as I’d love him at Leeds, I just can’t see us beating juventus to his signature”
Currently, De Paul has until the summer of 2024 on his existing deal with Udinese and a market value of £31.5m according to Transfermarkt.
Do you think there is any chance of Leeds signing Rodrigo de Paul?
No, it will not happen
Yes, anything is possible
“Depends if he wants to play in the Premier League or not, that’s a huge pull for some players. Also, add Bielsa to the mix. Having said that he still might cost more than we’re preparing to pay.”
“Good. Looks like they putting it out there .”
So far this season, the Argentine has made 14 Serie A appearances for Udinese, in which he has scored three goals and provided an assist (per WhoScored).
Over the outings, he has been in stellar form for his Italian club as he has earned a 7.45/10 average rating, making him comfortably the best-performing player at the club.
“That’s fine, I can wait…”
“How about a loan and buy..”
“Hopefully that means we won’t have to hear a month of stupid tweets and rumours about him, glad Udinese have made it clear early doors”
As can be seen in these responses from Leeds fans, there was a mixed reaction from them following the latest report on De Paul.
