Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Facebook, which relayed the comments of Aston Villa midfielder, Jack Grealish, regarding the condition of the Elland Road pitch.
In a recent post on his Instagram story (via Leeds Live), Grealish, who has had run-ins with Leeds fans already this season, shared an image from Leeds’ recent 1-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, adding the caption “Everyone just slips on this pitch” accompanied by three laughing emojis.
According to Leeds Live, United were ‘unable to relay’ their pitch over the course of the summer because of the ‘smaller gap than usual between campaigns’ due to the suspension of football in March of last year.
However, the club’s CEO, Angus Kinnear, recently promised to ‘modernise and improve Elland Road‘, an objective which will start with ‘the reconstruction of the pitch’ at the end of the season.
And, after Leeds Live relayed their article regarding Grealish’s latest comments on Facebook, fans of the Whites flocked to have their say on the matter, with many harking back to their previous beef with the Villa captain, while others appeared to be in agreement with the 25-year-old.
Is Grealish right to criticise Leeds' pitch?
So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to Jack Grealish’s comments?
So, all in all, while some Leeds fans suggested that Grealish should look forward to playing on their pitch as it would provide him with an excuse to fall over, others agreed with the Villa man, claiming that the pitch at Elland Road is an embarrassment to the club.
