Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report that suggested a candidate who could potentially replace Celtic manager, Neil Lennon.

Despite receiving backing from the club’s board, the Hoops manager is currently under pressure at Celtic and this has led to fans talking about who should succeed the Northern Irishman.

An article by 67 Hail Hail put forward the idea that, should the under-fire Lennon eventually be relieved of his duties as Celtic boss, Shaun Maloney could be a good fit for the Bhoys.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

The 37-year-old, who is currently one of Roberto Martinez’s coaches with the Belgium national team, spent two spells at Celtic as a player, and the article by 67 Hail Hail called for the Hoops to ‘take an educated gamble’ on Maloney.

So, what did these Celtic fans think of the idea of Shaun Maloney taking over at Parkhead?

Maloney, who has been described as ‘one of Celtic’s most exciting players during the 2000s’, has completed a Masters in coaching at the Johan Cruyff Institute, with the 37-year-old said to be inspired by Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona, the Lisbon Lions, Matt Busby’s Manchester United teams, Ajax and Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.
