Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed Neil Lennon’s comments confirming that David Turnbull is in contention for Celtic’s squad to face St Johnstone on Sunday.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Lennon stated that Turnbull had been out due to testing positive for the viral pandemic, but that the central midfielder will ‘hopefully’ be in the squad to face St Johnstone this weekend after he completed his isolation and produced a negative test for the virus.

However, only one of these six appearances has come as a start, with the £1.62 million-rated 21-year-old often being used as a late substitute by the Celtic boss.

And it would seem that many Celtic fans would like to see Turnbull start against St Johnstone on Sunday, with a great number taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

However, one Celtic fan made a joke regarding the wording of the tweet by The Grand Auld Podcast, suggesting that it read as if Lennon himself was back in training, before claiming that the 49-year-old couldn’t be any worse than the club’s current midfield options.

All in all, it would seem the majority of these Celtic fans would love to see Turnbull in the starting XI for the Bhoys on Sunday, however, many expect the midfielder to only get his now customary end-of-the-match runout in the fixture.
