Many Celtic fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Hoops fan Twitter account @celtic_now which asked supporters of the Glasgow club if they’d like their side to sign Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts, who is currently on loan at EFL Championship side Middlesbrough.
Roberts was on loan at Parkhead on two separate occasions in the past, initially joining the Glasgow club for the final few months of the 2016/17 campaign from City and re-joining them for the entirety of the 2017/18 campaign.
He made more appearances for Celtic than he has made for any other club thus far in his senior football career, as he played 78 times for the Glasgow club, scoring 18 goals and providing 26 assists.
After claims that Celtic have shown interest in signing Roberts from City permanently emerged earlier this year and it was more recently claimed that the £2.25m-rated Englishman is ‘frustrated’ with his current loan spell at Middlesbrough, this tweet on the possibility of Roberts returning to Parkhead caught the attention of many Celtic fans.
So, what have these Celtic fans had to say about the possibility of their club signing Roberts?
Has the Paddy Roberts ship sailed or would you like Celtic to sign him?

A lot of Hoops fans replied to this post to beg their club to bring the 23-year-old back to Parkhead.
Kinda player we need, someone driving at defenders causing panic and creating space for others

Would you like Celtic to sign Roberts permanently?
YES
NO
You’d get him for a couple of £million now, don’t see the problem when we know he’s a proven talent…
How many £2-3m gambles have we made that have been absolute wastes of money?????
Least we know what we’re getting with him?— Dom CFC67?9???? (@Shiv1888) December 16, 2020

So, it’s clear that Roberts made a big impression on supporters of the Glasgow club during his previous spells at Parkhead and it will be interesting to see if Celtic do move for the winger in January.
