Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Hoops defender, Shane Duffy, in the club’s Europa League fixture against Ligue 1 side, Lille.
Prior to Thursday evening’s Europa League fixture, Duffy, who joined Celtic on a season-long loan deal from Brighton & Hove Albion back in September, had featured 15 times in all competitions for Neil Lennon’s side, chipping in with two goals and providing one assist along the way.
However, in the club’s Europa League dead rubber against Lille on Thursday evening, it was obvious that fans of Celtic were not happy with the £8.55 million-rated 28-year-old’s performance, with many taking to Twitter to make their feelings known about the Republic of Ireland international.
Is Peter Lawwell to be blamed for signing Shane Duffy?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say about Shane Duffy’s performance against Lille?

Tonight once again proves Duffy should be no where near a Celtic jersey.

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Celtic fans were not impressed with Duffy’s performance against Lille whatsoever.
And, considering the centre-back gave away a free-kick from which Lille managed to score, as well as conceding a free-kick for a rather comical handball and being awarded a match rating of 6/10 by The Herald, we have to say, we are not overly surprised to see many of the Celtic fans taking aim at the defender.
