At the time of writing this, Celtic fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from BBC pundit and former Hoops striker Chris Sutton.

This comes after Sutton shared a post on his official Twitter page quote-tweeting a post from Daily Record Sport that included an article he wrote about Celtic duo Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

In his post, Sutton revealed that this latest column focused on “why Celtic desperately need Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard to click right now just as they did last season or it’s game over.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Hoops fans who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to Sutton’s post?

Many Hoops fans decided to share their thoughts on Edouard and his season so far.

“Eddy is our problem game in game out he has been poor . Over the last four games only and you forgot all previous you would say we are crying out for a clinical striker, he drifts left takes too many touches and he is a soft touch!”

@malky67

“Edouard is a “ Big bhoy “ , needs to take care of his own responsibilities !”

@BruceaxeDebohun

“We must assume that Eddy is one of the players that wanted away. Early season he played as if he wasn’t interested. then he came back from international games with the virus. and even if he wanted to, he didn’t seem to be on form missed a few sitters this season, a big loss…”

@tamrabam1

“Edouard has been a disgrace this season. He’s not at the races at all. If I was in that squad I’d boot him up and down the training pitch until he started putting a shift in and himself about.”

@youhavingalaugh

“Going on his performances lately I seriously worry that a defibrillator wouldn’t even spark him into life”

@AD196779

“Forget about french eddy, he’s more than likely gone come January since its the clubs last chance to make decent money on him. Griff and a new striker like yourself Chris or BBJ. And start playing 2 up front. That’s how I see the 2nd half of this season going. Hail Hail.”
Celtic signed the Frenchman on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain back in July 2018 for a fee of £9.27 million after he spent the previous season on loan at Parkhead.
Overall, the striker, who is currently valued at £13.5 million, has made 149 appearances for Celtic, prior to their SPFL clash against Hamilton Academical, in which he has managed to score 71 goals and provide 34 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Looking at the replies to this post from Sutton, it’s clear that these Celtic fans don’t think Edouard has been in the best form so far this season. However, he did manage to grab a goal and an assist earlier on today. And, Leigh Griffiths and Edouard connected to make Celtic’s second of the game.

Have you been disappointed by Edouard's performances so far this season?

The 22-year-old having scored six goals in the 13 SPFL appearances he’s made so far this season and earned himself a season rating of 7.30/10 in the process, this shows that he hasn’t been completely off the boil as these Celtic fans have made out.
