Supporters of Celtic have recently reacted to a transfer claim which has emerged regarding Norwegian defender Kristoffer Ajer.

According to a recent report by Goal, Ligue 1 outfit Nice are eyeing a move to sign the centre-back during the January transfer window.

Supposedly, that is due to the fact that Brazilian defender Dante has picked up an injury issue, but the French club are not alone as AC Milan are also reportedly keen.

It is claimed that any club wishing to purchase the Norwegian would have to match the Hoops’ asking price for their man which supposedly stands at €13m (£12m).

This report was then picked up by Read Celtic and shared on their Facebook page, which had lots of supporters talking.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about the transfer report on Kristoffer Ajer?

The 22-year-old defender currently has until the summer of 2022 on his existing deal with the Bhoys and a market value of £3.6m according to Transfermarkt.

When Celtic signed him back in the summer of 2016, Ajer arrived at Celtic Park from Norwegian club IK Start for £540,000.

Would you say that €13m (£12m) would be a fair price for Kristoffer Ajer?

So far this season, Ajer has made 15 appearances in the Premiership for Neil Lennon’s side in which he has scored once and assisted once (per WhoScored).

His performances over the 15 outings have earned the defender a solid 7.12/10 average rating, making him the seventh-best performer for the Hoops in the league.

As can be seen in these responses from Celtic fans, many of them would be keen to see the club keep hold of the Norwegian despite the interest in him.
