Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to praise the Hoops midfielder, David Turnbull, following his impressive first-half display against Lille.
Turnbull, who arrived at Celtic from Motherwell back in August, has so far gone on to feature just seven times in all competitions for Neil Lennon’s side, prior to the club’s Europa League fixture with Lille.
However, despite having started just one league game for the Bhoys this term, Lennon handed the £1.62 million-rated 21-year-old a ‘rare start‘ against the French side, and Turnbull has already taken his chance to impress.
On corner duty for the Hoops, in the 21st minute, the midfielder swung a delightful ball in for centre-back Christopher Jullien, who headed home to give Celtic the lead in the fixture.

David Turnbull has offered more in the first 20 mins of this game than Scott Brown has all season. But we all know who will start on Sunday?

Right Turnbull has to start week in week out of for no other reason than he can deliver a corner! Plus the fact he looks to have real quality, he doesn’t need a 6 month period of adjustment, he came from 10 miles up the road.

As can be seen, these Celtic fans are were delighted with the first-half performance of Turnbull, and will no doubt be hoping for more of the same from the midfielder after the break, as well as hoping that Celtic can hang on to their 2-1 lead, a result which would mark their first win in the Europa League group stage this season.
