Supporters of Celtic have gushed after comments from Scottish midfielder Callum McGregor recently emerged on social media.
In the club’s latest fixture, the Hoops were able to pick up their first win in the Europa League group stage in their final game as they defeated LOSC Lille (per Transfermarkt).
During the 3-2 win, McGregor was Neil Lennon’s captain and played the full match.
Following the win at Celtic Park, McGregor said: “We deserved it. We have to take that to Sunday. That’s the most important game now and we have to go win that.”
This was shared to social media by the club alongside footage of the midfielder talking to the media (per Celtic), which had lots of fans airing their thoughts.

On Sunday, the Hoops host Kilmarnock at Celtic Park in a 3pm kick-off as Lennon’s side look to extend a four-match unbeaten run in the league (per Transfermarkt).

Thought Callum made a very good point. It’s been the togetherness of the whole club that has made us so successful. It started for me with wee Fergus coming in. It’s stayed with us since then. That’s why we should bin all this demonstrating and get the message across in May.

In the Scottish Premiership, McGregor has made 14 appearances for the Bhoys this season, in which he has scored three goals and provided two assists (per WhoScored).
His performances have been impressive, as the 27-year-old has earned a 7.25/10 average rating, making him Celtic’s third-best performer in the league.
