Supporters of have reacted after some comments from Neil Lennon regarding James Forrest were shared on Twitter by the club.

Celtic’s 29-year-old right midfielder has been absent for since September, having last played in the 1-0 victory against Riga FC (per Transfermarkt).

The issue which has kept the Scotsman sidelined is an ankle injury which he is expected to return from next month.

Speaking on Forrest’s injury, Lennon recently said: “Jamesy will hopefully be back in training in a couple of weeks.

“He’s been hugely missed. Not only his goals, but assists as well. He was coming into really good form. It’s been a very frustrating period for him but having him back will be like a new signing.”

These comments were shared on Twitter by the club and they had lots of fans talking.

Prior to picking up the ankle injury, the 29-year-old wide midfielder made seven Premiership appearances for the , in which he bagged two goals and one assist (per WhoScored).

His performances over the seven outings earned him an impressive 7.14/10 average rating, making him the seventh-best performer in Lennon’s squad so far this term.
