Supporters of Celtic have flocked to a club post which was shared on Twitter regarding Norwegian defender Kristoffer Ajer.

On Tuesday afternoon, the centre-back was named in the SPFL’s Team of the Week, which was shared on social media (per SPFL).

That was for his performance in the 2-0 victory against Kilmarnock, where he picked up a 7.56/10 match rating and was the Hoops’ fourth-best player on the day (per WhoScored).

This tweet from the SPFL was then picked up by Celtic, who quote-tweeted the post and added: ‘Congrats, Kris.’

After the club shared their tweet on Ajer, lots of Hoops fans flocked to it to air their reactions.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about the club’s tweet on Kristoffer Ajer?

According to WhoScored, the only players in the Celtic squad to have performed better against Kilmarnock were Mohamed Elyounoussi, David Turnbull and Shane Duffy – none of whom featured in the Team of the Week.

While multiple Celtic fans mentioned the absence of Ismaila Soro in the Team of the Week, he actually delivered a much weaker performance rating than Ajer.

With the centre-back having delivered an impressive 7.56/10 rating, the Ivorian midfielder was only the Hoops’ 10th-best player on the day with a 6.81/10 rating.

As can be seen in these responses from the Parkhead faithful, many of them did not agree with the Team of the Week which had been chosen by the SPFL.
