Many Celtic fans have been talking about Marian Shved after an update about the Ukrainian recently emerged on social media.

Shved, who is currently on loan at Belgian club Mechelen, recently scored a goal in a league game against Mouscron. This came after Mechelen manager Wouter Vrancken had bizarrely advised the player to quit football and take up billiards instead as he threatened to send the winger back to Celtic and cut the loan deal short (as per The Scottish Sun).

This update about Shved’s time at Mechelen caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who began talking about the winger on Twitter.

What did Celtic fans make of this update about Marian Shved?

Will Celtic want to keep him? Apparently, the lad is a talented player but the manager of the current team he is on loan at stated that, Shved has a bad attitude problem that alienates him from the rest of his teammates”

“Seeing people say they would bring him back, if he isn’t starting for Mechelen then there is no chance he should be playing for us.”

Shved had joined Celtic from Karpaty Lviv in the January of 2019, but he was loaned back to the Ukraine-based club till the summer of 2019. This past summer, the 23-year-old was loaned out to Mechelen (as per Transfermarkt).

For Mechelen this season, Shved has played five games while scoring once. He is yet to start a single game for the Belgian club (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Celtic fans also began talking about the update involving the winger.

“Not a single coach has had a good word yo say about his attitude since he’s joined us !!! Obviously points to something eh …”
“Like a new signing ?”

There is a mixed reaction to this update and some Celtic fans feel that the striker is now getting into form.

Having said that, Shved has made only three first-team appearances for the Bhoys and he played only 15 minutes of Premiership football (as per Transfermarkt). That might be a reflection of the fact that the Hoops don’t trust him as a player and since Shved has scored just once, he may need to push on further to impress Neil Lennon.

So perhaps fans need to wait and see if the Ukrainian uses this goal to find some consistent form.
