Celtic will be hoping they can keep the pressure on the league leaders for as long as possible in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.

The Bhoys kept themselves 16 points adrift of Steven Gerrard’s side as they beat Hamilton Academical 3-0 in their most recent match on Boxing Day.

Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths put Celtic two goals ahead in the second half of the match, before David Turnbull scored his fourth goal of the season with 16 minutes remaining for Neil Lennon’s side.

Edouard and Griffiths haven’t featured together much for Celtic this season, with the pair being named in the starting XI together for a league match just twice.

But there have been promising signs from both players, as Celtic have won both matches that they have started in together as a pair.

Their recent turnaround in form has come at the ideal time as they head towards the New Year. Celtic find themselves second in the Scottish Premiership, and are 16 points adrift of league leaders Rangers, even though the Bhoys have three matches in hand over the Gers.

A number of Celtic supporters have taken to social media to issue praise for Griffiths and Edouard for their partnership together, with many of them calling for Lennon to start the pair against Rangers on 2nd January.

Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below.

“Eddy was unplayable today. Granted it was against a 2nd/3rd string Hamilton team but, with Griff up top with him, he found his mojo again.”

It remains to be seen whether Lennon will field the duo together next week in what is sure to be a pivotal match in the race for the title and Celtic’s quest for a 10th-straight championship.
