Celtic headed into extra-time after they couldn’t be separated from Heart of Midlothian on Sunday afternoon.

A dramatic penalty shootout sealed an enthralling final after a 3-3 draw – and it seems the manner of Celtic’s historic victory has not gone down totally well with the club’s supporters.

The Bhoys took the lead on the day through Ryan Christie, who fired home clinically into the top corner after 19 minutes.

That lead was then doubled just ten minutes later, as Odsonne Edouard’s chipped penalty beat Craig Gordon in the Heart of Midlothian goal.

But the Championship side fought their way back into the contest, as Liam Boyce halved their deficit, before Stephen Kingsley drew the teams level with 23 minutes remaining of normal time.

Another goal apiece in extra time sent it to penalties, where Kristoffer Ajer smashed home the winning kick.

The pressure was firmly on Neil Lennon heading into the final, and he will have been bitterly disappointed to see his side throw away a two-goal lead.

The Bhoys are 16 points adrift of league leaders Rangers heading into Christmas, and fans have been calling for Lennon to leave the club after a poor run of results.

Plenty of Celtic supporters took to social media to aim their frustrations towards Lennon after they conceded their second goal of the afternoon.

While Celtic managed to secure their quadruple-treble in the end, it seems as though the way in which they got there was by no means impressive in the eyes of the Hoops supporters.
