Celtic pundit Colin Watt has recently been raving about the performances of the club’s midfielder Ismaila Soro.

Watt recently appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was Ismaila Soro and his recent performances. Watt gave his opinion about the midfielder and said that he is currently ‘undroppable’ and Scott Brown isn’t even close to replacing him.

Soro had recently started in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Ross County and the Ivorian midfielder had played the full 90 minutes of the tie. He racked up an impressive rating of 7.15 and only eight players picked up better ratings than the midfielder (as per Whoscored). He is currently valued at £900k.

Watt believes that the Ivorian was outstanding against Ross County and some of his play was ‘unbelievable’ as well.

He said (6:25): “When taking a look at Soro today, he was outstanding. Some of his play was unbelievable. For me, I think he’s undroppable now. I don’t think there’s anyway you can bring back in Brown to drop out Soro because he really showed what he can do tonight.”

TIF Thoughts on Watt’s comments regarding Soro…

The 22-year-old Celtic man had arrived at Parkhead from Bnei Yehuda in the January of 2020 for a fee of £2.07m. In the current campaign, he has now made seven appearances in all competitions after having not featured in quite a few games earlier in the season.

Apart from having impressed against Ross County, the Ivorian picked up a good rating against Kilmarnock and performed very well against Lille in the Europa League as well (as per Whoscored).

So clearly, Soro has become an influential player in the midfield and it is understandable why Watt considers him to be ‘undroppable’.
