Celtic Fans TV host Paul McTaggart has made a claim concerning Hoops full-back Diego Laxalt.

This comes after McTaggart recently hosted a video from the Celtic Fans TV YouTube channel where he shared his predicted starting XI for the Hoops’ SPFL clash away at Hamilton Academical.

While discussing who he thinks Neil Lennon will select to play at left-back out of Laxalt or Greg Taylor, McTaggart had this to say on the matter. (1.57)

He said: “At left-back, I’m going to go for Taylor. I know Laxalt started the other night [against Ross County] and this is one that’s dividing a lot of supporters but I just think because it’s on a plastic pitch which Greg Taylor is used to playing on, I think he’s maybe more suited to start this game.

“Laxalt wasn’t too bad the other night but as I said I just think he’s a wee bit like a headless chicken at times, a wee bit of cavalier and when he gets into those crossing positions, I think his quality and his use of the ball could be much better.”

Celtic signed Laxalt on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan back in October. Since then, the 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £4.5 million, has made 14 appearances for the Hoops across the SPFL, Europa League and Scottish League Cup in which he has managed to score one goal for the club (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Paul McTaggart’s comments on Laxalt…

In our view, given how Laxalt earned himself an impressive match rating of 7.61/10 for his performance against Ross County earlier in the week, making him Celtic’s fourth-highest rated player on the day, we think he should keep his place in the team to play Hamilton.

Who do you think should start against Hamilton?

However, with Laxalt and Taylor’s season ratings so far in this campaign being very close to each other, it would be hard to say for certain who Lennon will choose to play this time.
