Broadcast reporter Dean Jones has been speaking on a recent edition of Touchline Talk with Pete O’Rourke about news from clubs in England and Scotland.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One of the clubs that he spent some time on was Celtic as the pressure on Neil Lennon increases further.

It was a bad week for the Bhoys as they crashed out of the Europa League and the Scottish League Cup in the space of three days.

Following on from that defeat to Ross County in the Scottish League Cup, there were violent protests outside of Celtic Park demanding that Lennon be sacked.

So things don’t look good for the Northern Irishman, and Jones can’t see him sticking around for too much longer.

He said: “When you get to this stage, the easiest thing to do is get rid of your manager.

“I would be absolutely amazed if Lennon can turn this situation around.

“I think it feels beyond repair.

“I think he will go soon.”

Is it time for Lennon to go?

TIF Thoughts on Lennon and Jones’ view on him…

Celtic are seeking their tenth Scottish Premiership title in a row, which is hugely important to the club.

However, they are 11 points adrift of Rangers in the table and are on a run of one win in nine games, and with the increasing pressure mounting on Lennon, we have to say it doesn’t look good for him.

He has had a successful time with the Bhoys over two spells, winning five Premiership titles, but maybe he has reached the end of the line, and it is time for someone else to step in.

It certainly seems a brave shout from Jones to suggest Lennon will ‘go soon’ despite their poor run, considering that chief executive Peter Lawwell has recently publicly defended his manager.

That said, there have been claims that the dressing room has been restless, so that probably hasn’t helped Lennon’s case, but we agree with Jones that the beleaguered boss might be sacked by Celtic soon and judging by the recent results, we couldn’t disagree if they decide to do that.
