West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently made a transfer claim regarding Bournemouth attacker Joshua King.

During the summer transfer window, the Hammers supposedly made a £13m bid to sign King from the Cherries, however, that was rejected (per Sky Sports).

It was stated that Bournemouth were open to selling the Norwegian, but they were after £18m for him.

That is despite the fact the 28-year-old forward’s contract is set to expire next summer and he has a market value of £11.7m according to Transfermarkt.

In the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee discussed several transfer rumours and made a claim regarding King. (1:01:49)

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “Still all suggestions point to the fact we’re going to sign Josh King in January.

“He hasn’t been featuring for Bournemouth, barely at all this year. A lot of that is down to injuries and the fact that they know that he’s going to be on his way out.

“But yes, a little bit of a concern.”

TIF Thoughts on what @ExWHUemployee said about Joshua King…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster said, based on “all suggestions”, it would seem that the Irons will sign King in January but his fitness record is “a little bit of a concern”.

Would you be happy if West Ham signed Josh King?

No, he's not good enough

Yes, he's a good player

Yes, he's a good player

So far this season, the Norwegian has made just five appearances for the Cherries in the Championship, in which he has neither scored nor assisted (per Transfermarkt).

However, despite his lack of games for his current club so far this term, the signing would be one that would make sense for West Ham.

In David Moyes’ first-team squad, he has just one natural left-winger and only two out-and-out strikers, both of which are positions which King has played this season.

So, it would appear that the 28-year-old forward would add good depth to the Hammers’ squad.
