Speaking recently on the Ask Ornstein YouTube show, David Ornstein discussed Slaven Bilic’s job security at West Bromwich Albion.

Since taking over at West Brom in the summer of 2019, Bilic has so far overseen 62 games in charge of the club, winning 26, drawing 20 and losing 16.

Last season, the 52-year-old guided the Baggies to automatic promotion to the Premier League, however, upon their return to the top flight, the club have struggled somewhat, winning just one of their 10 league games so far this term, leaving Bilic’s side languishing in 17th place in the table.

In addition to their disappointing form on the pitch, from the outside, things have not appeared to be overly healthy off the pitch either, as Bilic openly criticised the West Brom board’s decision to sell Ahmed Hegazi a matter of hours before his side faced Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this season.

And, on the subject of the Croatian’s position as West Brom manager, Ornstein stated on a recent episode of the Ask Ornstein YouTube show that he believes Bilic’s job is on a knife-edge.

He said: “West Brom – that one feels on a constant knife-edge with Slaven Bilic and there was some tension coming into the season, mainly around recruitment. So, it feels like it could go either way at any moment.”

TIF Thoughts on David Ornstein’s comments regarding Slaven Bilic…

From Ornstein’s comments, it is obvious that the journalist thinks Bilic’s position as West Brom manager is not overly stable, and that he could quite easily be sacked at any given moment.

However, considering the success Bilic had at the club last season, in our opinion, the West Brom board should afford the 52-year-old a little more time to steady his side in the Premier League, as, after all, they are currently just one point from safety in the table.
