Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news about a potential transfer taking one step closer to being done.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, RB Leipzig midfielder and captain Marcel Sabitzer has gone to the executives at the club and asked them personally to make the transfer happen, all this whilst Spurs and RB Leipzig have been continuing their negotiations over his services.
This adds to an earlier report from Konur that also states that Spurs are interested in offering up one of their own players in order to sweeten the deal, and to bring the price of the Austrian down (who is currently valued at £31.5m on Transfermarkt).
So when the news reached the fans on social media, it left a lot of them feeling rather excited that they looked to be one step closer to pulling off one of their first deal of the window:
“I’M ON MY KNEES”
How much will Spurs spend this window?
More than £50m
Less than £50m
Central midfield is clearly becoming a bit of a priority for Jose Mourinho this winter, with reports that he is also interested in bringing back Christian Eriksen to the club after less than a year away from north London, something that didn’t go down quite well with the Spurs faithful.
