A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs-focused Twitter account @Daily_Hotspur which relayed Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold’s update on Dele Alli’s situation.
With Alli having featured in just two top-flight games prior to this weekend, Gold has claimed that Tottenham are set to ‘hold discussions next month over whether to sanction a potential exit for him in the January transfer window’ unless his situation changes.
In addition to stating that Alli isn’t even getting into Jose Mourinho’s second-best XI at present, it’s explained in this article that Alli is still one of the highest earners at the north London club and Gold went on to say that as a result of that, the 24-year-old’s situation is ‘doing nobody any favours’ at present.
So, how did these Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Alasdair Gold’s update on Dele Alli?
#thfc will hold talks with Dele Alli next month if his situation does not change. A permanent or loan deal would then need to be decided. The midfielder is one of the club's highest earners and is struggling to even make the squad. | @AlasdairGold

One particular Spurs fan stated that this situation ‘doesn’t sit right’ with them and another shared that Alli’s situation ‘saddens’ them.
This is personal between Jose and Dele and it doesn’t sit right with me

Situations saddens me. But we’ve been at this for a while now. Getting over it.

Meanwhile, other Tottenham supporters indicated that they believe it’s time for the Englishman to leave their club.
Not good enough, end of!

Unfortunately I think its time for Dele to move on. He’s always been one of my favorites. But we haven’t seen top flight Dele in well over a season and a half. I am not sure if this system is going to suit him.

It’s a weird situation because we know Dele can be an amazing player but it’s just not working out right now. Personally I would say sell him so we can get funds for another player.

Some Spurs supporters replied to this post to suggest potential replacements for Alli if he does leave Tottenham.
Could they be thinking of a high price tag for Dele and then move in on Dybala???…. https://t.co/WYGlSHe6l0

Are you upset by Alli's situation?
YES
NO
So, it seems as though plenty of Tottenham supporters would like to see the club move Alli on if a positive conclusion that sees him return to form at the north London club can’t be reached.
