Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have recently reacted to a transfer claim which has emerged regarding Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Jose Mourinho’s side is keen on recruiting the centre-back alongside two other Premier League clubs.
The outfits which are supposedly alongside Spurs are Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
It is claimed that Kabak’s Bundesliga club is looking for a fee which amounts to at least €20m (£18.1m) and there will be ‘warmer developments in the coming days‘.
This comes after the same journalist shared back in November that Spurs will make a move for Kabak in January.
This tweet was picked up by Last Word On Spurs and relayed to Tottenham fans, which had many of them talking.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about the transfer link with Ozan Kabak?
“Any chance that we might look for an attacking creative midfielder ? All I see is us linked with more defenders”
“Because turkish players always doing so well in the PL. No from me!”
“Tugay, Muzzy Izzet, Soyoncu all did well. To avoid a player based on their nationality is ridiculous”
The 20-year-old defender currently has until the summer of 2024 left on his current deal with Schalke and a market value of £22.5m according to Transfermarkt.
Would you be happy if Spurs signed Ozan Kabak?
No, he's not good enough
Yes, he's a good player
“No chance, busy agent has linked him with everyone. West Ham all over this lad”
“Honestly I have one question is he fast ? And is he good in the Air ? If not then no thank we already have dier and toby who are kinda bad in the air”
“Excited to hear that developments are developing.”
“He looks like Hulk”
“Saw many games: Young player with great talent, but very raw…nothing that will help us right away, but might be cheap now with massive potential in the future”
So far this season, the 20-year-old defender has made eight appearances for his German club in the Bundesliga, in which he has neither scored a goal nor has he assisted one (per WhoScored).
His average rating over the outings has been a weak 6.08/10, making him the 12th-worst performer to feature for Schalke in the league this season.
The same average rating in Tottenham’s squad in the Premier League so far this term would make him Spurs’ worst-performing player.
“I think it’s probably just agent talk”
As can be seen in these responses from Spurs fans, there was a mixed reaction from them regarding the transfer link with the Turkish defender.
