Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news concerning the north London club.

This comes after Spurs-focused Twitter account @Daily_Hotspur shared a post on their page relaying comments made by journalist Duncan Castles on a recent episode of The Transfer Window Podcast.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

Castles claimed that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign a central defender in the upcoming January transfer window to allow his team to play higher up the pitch.

He also apparently wants the player to be fast and left-footed to help with the circulation of play.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this update.

So, what did these Spurs fans make of this post on Castles’ transfer claim?

Do you think Spurs need to sign a defender in January?

Yes

No

No

One Spurs fan shared their thoughts on who the club could look to sign in January that would fit the criteria outlined by Castles.

Other Spurs fans replied to the post assuming that this latest update means the club won’t look to sign Inter defender Milan Skriniar, who they have been linked with in the past.

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that this group of Spurs fans would not be against seeing their club signing a new defender in January.

However, given how Spurs have only conceded two goals in their previous seven Premier League games prior to their midweek clash against Liverpool, this could suggest that they may not need to change their defensive line in January if they remain strong at the back.
