Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news concerning their club.
This comes after Spurs-focused Twitter account @TheSpursExpress shared a post relaying news originally shared in a tweet by German football journalist Christian Falk.
Falk revealed that Bundesliga club Wolfsburg have promised striker Wout Weghorst a January transfer move to Tottenham if the north London club meet their asking price of £32 million.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest news.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about this transfer link to Wout Weghorst?
“yesss”
“SIGN HIM QUICK”
“This would unreal business for us”
However, there were some Lilywhites fans responding to the post who were a bit sceptical over a potential move for Weghorst in January.
“No thanks”
“No chance”
“Leandro Damiao v2”
“There are better options for that price”
Do you think Spurs should sign a striker in January?
Yes
No
The 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £27 million, signed to Wolfsburg back in the 2018 summer transfer window from AZ Alkmaar for a fee of £9.45 million.
Since then, the striker has made 97 appearances for Wolfsburg, in which he has managed to score 53 goals and provide 13 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that while some Spurs fans would be happy to see the striker make the move to Tottenham in January, the majority think this won’t be the case.
Given how Jose Mourinho’s side have failed to win any of their four previous Premier League games, maybe adding Weghorst to their squad in January could help them improve their fortunes because of his goalscoring abilities.
