Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news surrounding Lilywhites midfielder Dele Alli.
This comes after Spurs-focused Twitter account @TheSpursExpress shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold.
In his article for Football.london on potential incoming and outgoing transfers at the north London club this January, Gold revealed that there is ‘a feeling among some within Spurs that they don’t want to give up on the talented young midfielder and that he just needs to find his rhythm again’.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to have their say on the matter.
So, what did these Spurs fans make of this update on Dele Alli?
He doesn’t have the game off the ball that Mourinho requires ..on the ball ,drops too deep and slows the game down ..like 4-5 others doesn’t fit into Mourinho’s style

Spurs signed the 24-year-old back in February 2015 from MK Dons for a fee of £5.97 million. Since then, the Englishman has made 229 appearances for Spurs in which he has managed to score 63 goals and provide 56 assists (per Transfermarkt).
Get him gone PSG need a player like him, get Sabitzer in we’ll be unstoppable

Do you think Spurs should sell Alli in January?
Yes
No
However, there were some Spurs fans responding to the post with a more optimistic and positive view on Alli and his future at Tottenham.
100% he can. I firmly believe @dele_official could have made a difference off the bench on Sunday. Would love to see him back in the fold.

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that Alli and his future at Spurs has completely split this group of Spurs fans with some suggesting the club should cut their ties with him and others feeling confident Alli will be able to work his way back into the side.
Given how Alli has only made two appearances for Spurs in the Premier League so far this season, this shows that Jose Mourinho may not necessarily see Alli as part of his strongest possible side this season.
In our view, Alli will need to take every opportunity he gets given this season to prove to Mourinho why he deserves to be in this Spurs squad and if he doesn’t, he could well end up looking for a new club in the future.
