Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have recently been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho which were relayed by Alasdair Gold.
According to the report by Gold for Football.london, Steven Bergwijn has recently received some criticism from supporters for two missed chances against Liverpool.
Speaking in his press conference on Friday, Mourinho launched a defence of the Dutch winger (Live blog, 13:04, 18/12/20).
He said: “He’s one of my boys. Period. There’s no point for me to individualise. He’s a good professional and he gives everything he can for the team.”
This was relayed to Spurs fans by Gold and it had lots of supporters talking.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about Jose Mourinho’s defence of Steven Bergwijn?

The 23-year-old forward has been situated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since January earlier this year, having moved from PSV Eindhoven for £27m (per Transfermarkt).
Has the criticism of Steven Bergwijn been harsh?
Yes, he's a good player
No, he's not good enough
Spot on. We’re fully behind Stevie.

Give him time, he try hard

So far this season, the Amsterdam-born attacker has made nine Premier League appearances for Tottenham, in which he has neither scored nor assisted a goal (per WhoScored).
His performances in the outings have not been overly impressive, too, as he has earned a weak 6.34/10 average rating, making him Spurs’ sixth-worst performer.
His performances recently have really stood out. He has worked his socks off for the team, and I totally see why José has stuck with him. Keep it going @StevenBergwijn the true Spurs fans are behind you x https://t.co/VL7M3yOKiI

Been super busy so missed this story last night. Insane that Bergwijn has had to suffer from this kind of abuse. Idiotic, but symptomatic, too often, of our digital culture. https://t.co/qRbJMvbbYz

As can be seen in these responses from Spurs fans, many of them were pleased to see Mourinho defending the club’s 23-year-old Dutchman.
