Chris Cowlin has been speaking on the latest edition of the Last Word On Spurs podcast about all things relating to Tottenham Hotspur after they lost 2-1 to Liverpool at Anfield.
After the match, Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp had a discussion where Mourinho claimed that the best team lost, and Cowlin believes that Spurs’ performance will have rattled the German.
He said: “Jurgen Klopp has seen Tottenham come to Anfield, we’ve given them a very, very good game.
“Jose Mourinho says to him instantly after the final whistle, ‘the best team lost.’
“I completely agree. I think the best team did lose, and Tottenham should have picked up the three points.
“Jose Mourinho went to Anfield with a game plan.
“Jurgen Klopp would have been very rattled by Tottenham, and he would seriously be thinking that Tottenham are serious title contenders.”

Liverpool dominated the match from start to finish as they had 76% of possession and had 11 shots on target, meaning that Hugo Lloris was the much busier of the two goalkeepers.
However, Spurs did miss some big chances through Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane, so we can see Cowlin’s point on that one, but we don’t agree with him or Mourinho that the best team lost at Anfield.
However, you cannot argue that after 13 games, Spurs are title contenders as they are only three points behind the Reds now, so Cowlin may have a point about that.
Tottenham, though, are now without a win in their last two league games, so can they change that when they face Leicester City next?
