A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to discuss Jamal Lewis’ performance in this evening’s Premier League clash between the Toon and Leeds United.
Lewis, who signed for the Toon from Championship side Norwich City in the summer transfer window, has been a regular at left-back for Steve Bruce’s side this term, so perhaps it won’t have come as a surprise to many supporters of the North East club that he started Wednesday’s clash with Leeds.
However, per ChronicleLive, in the first few minutes of the game, the £13.5m-rated Englishman sent a ‘very poor’ free-kick out for a Leeds goal-kick, and perhaps that early action set the tone for things to come from the 22-year-old in this game in the eyes of a portion of his club’s fans, judging by the comments some Newcastle United supporters have made about him on Twitter.
So, what did these Newcastle United fans have to say about Lewis’ performance versus Leeds?
Add Lewis to that list. He’s been putrid

Jamal Lewis keeps passing to the other team and dribbling out of play – that’s sort of a problem. #NUFC

Many Toon supporters shared that they are far from impressed by Lewis’ performance versus Leeds, with one particular Newcastle fan suggesting that they think their club made a mistake by signing the left-back and another Newcastle fan branding the summer signing a ‘liability.’
Which scout told us to buy Lewis, he’s absolutely garbage!! #NUFC

All in all, it certainly seems as though Lewis hasn’t made himself very popular amongst fans of his club with his most recent display.
