Mark Douglas has been speaking on a recent edition of the Everything is Black and White podcast about all things relating to Newcastle United.

Starting with an easy one, what number does Wilson wear for Newcastle?

One of the topics that he spent a lot of time on was the proposed takeover of the Toon by PCP Capital Partners, PIF and the Reuben brothers that was withdrawn in July.

Once the deal was withdrawn, the group tried again in September in a behind closed doors effort that also failed.

This led Mike Ashley to appoint two lawyers and launch a legal challenge that was made public in November.

Douglas then used some time to provide a short update on the legal battle.

He said: “If the lawyers can get arbitration on track as soon as possible, then we could see some movement, but we have been saying that for a long time.

“Because it’s a confidential process, I can’t say definitively, ‘it’s happening here, it’s happening there’, but it’s still one to watch.”

Do you think that the legal case is any closer to a conclusion?

No, it could be ages still

TIF Thoughts on the legal battle over the proposed takeover…

Ashley appointed Nick De Marco, who is described as the “Lionel Messi of Sports Law,” and Shaheed Fatima in his legal challenge.

Considering he appointed them in September, they have been at this for a while now, so maybe we might hear something soon?

The Premier League are also in another legal battle with Newcastle Consortium Supporters Limited (NCSL), who have demanded ‘transparency‘ from the Premier League over why this takeover collapsed.

So, it looks like there is a lot going on, and we hope that for the sake of the Toon fans, this all ends in a positive way, and they get their takeover at some point.
