Lee Ryder has been speaking on a recent edition of the Everything is Black and White podcast about all things relating to Newcastle United.
One of the topics that he spent a little bit of time on was transfers.
The Chronicle revealed on Wednesday that the Toon are interested in Brandon Williams and Lee Ryder provided a little update on their interest in the Manchester United man.
He said: “He is one of those players where he needs game time, he’s not getting it at Man United.
“They blocked a move from Southampton to sign him earlier in the season around the transfer deadline, and now he’s become available again.
“Newcastle, obviously, have cottoned on to the fact that he might be up for grabs as a loan, so they have scouted him, they have had a look at him.
“So, it’s one to watch, there are no guarantees, but certainly, Brandon Williams is a player that would bring something to Newcastle.”

The 20-year-old is one of three natural left-backs currently in the Red Devils’ squad, and as a result, he has only played six minutes in the Premier League this season and 31 in the Champions League.
So, he is short of game time.
The Toon have Jamal Lewis and Matt Ritchie as natural left-backs, Achraf Lazaar is also a natural left-back but he is not included in their Premier League squad.
As well as Ritchie and Lewis, they also have a few others capable of playing at left-back.
Lewis has not performed that well this season and only averages a 6.49 rating from his ten Premier League games.
So you can see why Steve Bruce might want to bring in some competition for Lewis.
However, we think that though Williams has the talent to possibly make a real difference for the Toon, they probably have enough cover to justify not bringing him in.
