Lee Ryder has been speaking on a recent edition of the Everything is Black and White podcast about all things relating to Newcastle United.

Starting with an easy one, what number does Wilson wear for Newcastle?

One of the topics that he spent a bit of time on was transfers.

The Chronicle reporter was asked who would be his ideal realistic signing for Newcastle in this upcoming transfer window, and he revealed that he wanted the club to sign Josh King from Bournemouth.

He said: “Newcastle were linked heavily with Callum Wilson, but they also had a good look at Josh King.

“His contract is running down now – if he became available for a knock-down fee, then to add him to your ranks in attack, knowing he’s got the understanding with [Ryan] Fraser, knowing he’s got the understanding with [Callum] Wilson; I think it would be a no-brainer to bring Josh King in.

“He’s only at Bournemouth because he didn’t get a move, he’s definitely going to be leaving in the summer, and I would expect Newcastle to be interested in him.”

Would you want to sign Josh King?

TIF Thoughts on King and Newcastle potentially signing him…

In the last transfer window, the Toon raided the Cherries and took Callum Wilson, while they also signed former Bournemouth man Ryan Fraser on a free.

Wilson has scored seven Premier League goals, while Fraser has provided one Premier League assist, so both have been useful to the Toon.

If they were to sign King, then they would be getting a player who has scored 48 Premier League goals and has been involved in seven direct goal contributions with Wilson and five direct goal contributions with Fraser.

So, those three could form quite the trio if given the opportunity, so you can understand why Ryder thinks that signing King would make a lot of sense.

The Norwegian international’s contract also expires next summer, so he could be available for a low price.

If he is, then we think that the Toon would be daft not to sign King, who is valued at 11.70 million (as per Transfermarkt), in January if they have the finances for any potential deal.
