Starting with an easy one, what number does Wilson wear for Newcastle?

One topic that The Chronicle reporter spent some time on was the Toon’s 5-2 thrashing by Leeds United on Wednesday night.

While he talked about this, he mentioned that Sean Longstaff was very poor and received a 4/10 rating from The Chronicle for his display that saw him give the ball away in his own box for the third goal.

However, Ryder thinks that the 23-year-old will be keen to bounce back.

He said: “From Sean Longstaff’s point of view, he will be hurting, which is a positive in a way, because it means that he can come back and deliver another decent display, which he has done in recent weeks.

“I felt for him a little bit because after the third goal, he tried to make amends a little bit too much, and sadly that started another attack, so [it was] disappointing.”

Do you think Longstaff should play against Fulham?

No, he needs a rest

Yes, give him a go

TIF Thoughts on Longstaff…

This was Longstaff’s ninth Premier League appearance of the season, and in those games, he has achieved a pretty poor average rating of 6.23, including a few performances which have seen him earn ratings of below six from WhoScored.

So, he has not had the best season, and it will intriguing to see if he even plays against Fulham on Saturday as Jonjo Shelvey was an unused substitute at Elland Road and played quite well in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion last Saturday.

So, we would not be surprised to see Shelvey come into the side for that match against Scott Parker’s men in place of Longstaff, and we feel that after a performance like that, maybe a rest would do the 23-year-old good.
