Some Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet posted by Toon-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 which relayed comments recently made by Sheffield United owner Abdullah bin Musaed about the Saudi-backed Toon takeover bid that Newcastle claimed the Premier League rejected earlier this year.

This comes after the Blades owner did an interview with Arabic-language news provider Asharq Business. Per Saudi sports journalist Nawaf Al-Ogayyel, he spent some time talking about the unsuccessful Toon takeover attempt from the consortium consisting of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, PCP Capital Partners and the Reuben brothers, saying: “The attempt to buy Newcastle has been treated unfairly by the English Premier League, and there will be another successful attempt, whether for Newcastle or others.”

After his comments were then relayed by @NUFC360, many Newcastle fans have flocked to this post to share their thoughts on what he had to say.

So, how did these Newcastle United fans react to the Sheffield United owner’s comments?

Many Toon fans were excited by these comments, with some Newcastle fans seemingly suggesting that they think there is a chance that the Saudi-backed takeover of the North East club can still go through, while some Toon fans praised the Blades owner.
