Many Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by @NUFC360 in which they relayed a report from ChronicleLive which claims that the Toon are considering a loan move for Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams in January.

Williams broke into Manchester United’s first-team last season, making 36 senior appearances for the Red Devils during the 2019/20 campaign, however, he has been used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term, with the £9.9m-rated man making just four appearances for Manchester United so far this season, ahead of their meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday

In ChronicleLive’s report, it is claimed that the 20-year-old, who can play at left-back, right-back or as a wing-back, would only be available on a straight loan deal, with the Red Devils said to view him ‘as a genuine star of the future,’ while it is also claimed that the Toon could face competition from their Premier League rivals Southampton for the England U21.

So, how did these Newcastle United fans react to this report linking them with Brandon Williams?

Plenty of the Newcastle fans who replied to this tweet responded negatively to it, indicating that they wouldn’t like to see the Manchester United man on loan at St. James’ Park.

Some Toon supporters shared that they would prefer to see Jetro Willems, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at the North East club, return to Newcastle instead.

However, not all of the replies to this post were negative as some Toon fans shared that they would be open to Williams joining their club.
